SUMMARY:🔥🚁 Apocalypse Now
DESCRIPTION:🔥🚁 Apocalypse Now - war\, madness\, spectacle\, and the e
nd of command\n\nMovie discussion - watch beforehand. No screening.\n\nSho
rt summary\n\nSome movies are about war. Apocalypse Now feels more like wa
r having a fever dream about itself. It is huge\, beautiful\, obscene\, hy
pnotic\, ridiculous\, and rotten in a way that still makes most modern war
movies look too clean. This is not just a Vietnam film. It is about comma
nd breaking down\, spectacle replacing meaning\, violence turning mystical
\, men losing the ability to tell the difference between mission and madne
ss. That is why it still deserves a room. Not because it is “important c
inema.” Because it is still disturbing. A movie this visually powerful s
hould make us suspicious of our own attention.\n\nA few questions already
sitting in my head\n\n• “Is the movie condemning spectacle\, or seduci
ng us with it?”\n• “At what point does the mission stop making sense
 ?”\n• “Is Kurtz insane\, honest\, monstrous\, or just what the war w
as already becoming?”\n• “What does the film understand about comman
d and masculinity?”\n• “Which scene felt most impossible to forget?
”\n• “Does the movie have a moral center\, or is that exactly what h
as collapsed?”\n\nHow the afternoon will go\n\nCome having watched the f
ilm beforehand. We’ll start with one question: “What scene still feels
lodged in your nervous system?” Then we’ll stay close to the film: Wi
 llard\, Kurtz\, the river\, the helicopters\, the spectacle\, the horror\,
and the feeling that order has become a costume. Not trivia. Not film-bro
monologues. Not war-movie ranking night. A real discussion.\n\nWhen and w
 here\n\n🗓️ Date: Sunday\, August 16th\, 2026 🕒 Time: 1:00 PM - 3:0
0 PM 📍 Location: Vancouver Central Library 350 West Georgia Street\, Va
ncouver\, BC Level 8 rooftop garden area\, outside behind the elevators. C
