SUMMARY:🌅 Finding Your People - Beach Sunset & Walk (Late 20s & 30s)
DESCRIPTION:Short summary\n\nMaking friends as an adult in Vancouver isn’
t easy. Maybe you’re new to the city. Maybe your friends are settling do
wn\, busy with work\, or live in different cities. Or maybe you’re simpl
y looking for people who are excited to say yes to plans. This isn’t a d
ating event. It’s for people looking to build genuine\, long-term friend
ships through shared experiences and seeing familiar faces over time. The
idea is simple: instead of meeting once and never seeing each other again\
, let’s build a group that keeps showing up. This first one is a beach s
unset walk + relaxed hang at Kits. Nothing complicated. No forced networki
ng. No “tell us a fun fact about yourself” hostage situation. We’ll
walk a bit\, settle somewhere near the beach\, and have a few easy things
people can do so the whole night doesn’t depend on constant small talk.
Because honestly\, the first meetup can be awkward. That’s normal. Havin
 g something small to do - a card game\, frisbee\, sketchbook\, book\, craf
t\, snack\, whatever - takes the pressure off and gives people a way to re
lax into the room. The activity is not the goal. The goal is becoming fami
liar.\n\nThis is probably for you if\n\n• You’re in your late 20s or 3
0s.\n• You enjoy getting outside more often than staying in.\n• You’
re looking for a few meaningful friendships rather than hundreds of acquai
ntances.\n• You’re kind\, open-minded\, and happy to say yes to new ex
periences.\n• You want people who might actually show up again.\n• You
’re okay coming solo\, because most people will.\n\nHow the evening will
go\n\nWe’ll meet at Kitsilano Beach Park\, do an easy sunset walk\, the
n settle into a relaxed beach hang. Bring something small if you want:\n\n
 • A simple card game.\n• A frisbee.\n• A book.\n• A sketchbook.\n
 • A small craft.\n• A snack.\n• A blanket.\n\nOr bring nothing and j
ust show up. Some people will talk right away. Some people will ease in sl
owly. Some people will be quietly grateful that there is something to do b
esides perform extroversion for two hours. All of that is fine.\n\nThis is
not about instant best friends. It’s about creating the kind of low-pre
ssure\, repeatable social space where friendship has a chance to grow over
time.\n\nThe bigger idea\n\nIf this works\, we’ll keep building the ser
ies over the summer:\n\n• Beach sunsets.\n• Outdoor movies.\n• Hikes
 .\n• Pickleball.\n• Volleyball.\n• Paddle boarding.\n• Road trips.
 \n• Festivals.\n• Camping.\n• Spontaneous after-work plans.\n\nThe p
oint is not one perfect event. The point is seeing familiar faces again an
d again until Vancouver feels a little less like a city full of almost-fri
 ends.\n\nWhen and where\n\n📅 Date: Saturday\, August 15\, 2026 🕒 Tim
 e: 6:00 PM-8:00 PM 📍 Location: Kitsilano Beach Park\n\nSmall note\n\nCo
me solo. Seriously. Most people will. This is friendship-first\, low-press
ure\, and built around shared experience rather than forced social perform
ance. Bring good energy\, a little patience\, and the willingness to becom
 e a familiar face.
