 ovie discussion. This is not a screening. This is about the short story it
 self. The story appears in Stories of Your Life and Others\, and it is one
  of the cleanest examples of science fiction doing what the genre is suppo
 sed to do: taking one impossible idea and using it to make ordinary human 
 life feel unbearable\, beautiful\, and newly strange. Language. Time. Choi
 ce. Parenthood. Foreknowledge. Determinism. Grief. And the brutal little q
 uestion underneath all of it: If you knew how something ended\, would that
  make it meaningless - or more precious?\n\nA few questions already sittin
