SUMMARY:🧠🪞 Who Are You\, Really? - are we one self or many?
DESCRIPTION:Podcast discussion - listen beforehand.\n\nShort summary\n\nMos
t people talk about the self like it is one clean thing. I know who I am.
That is just me. I’m not that kind of person. I’ve always been this wa
 y. Convenient. Also suspicious. This Hidden Brain episode\, “Who Are You
\, Really?”\, gives us a good doorway into a much messier question: Are
we one stable self\, or a collection of different selves that show up depe
 nding on memory\, mood\, relationships\, fear\, pressure\, and context? Be
cause most of us know the feeling. You are one person with your family. An
other with friends. Another at work. Another when you’re insecure. Anoth
er when you feel powerful. Another when nobody is watching. So which one i
s real? Maybe all of them. Maybe none of them. Maybe the self is less like
a statue and more like a committee that keeps pretending it has one spoke
sperson. That’s the room I want. Not personality-test talk. Not astrolog
y with better branding. Not everyone announcing their “type” like it e
xplains a human life. A real conversation about identity\, memory\, contra
diction\, and whether becoming yourself means discovering one true core or
learning how to live with the many versions of you.\n\nA few questions al
ready sitting in my head\n\n• Are you one self\, or a group of selves th
at take turns running the room?\n• Which version of you feels most real:
the private one\, the social one\, the wounded one\, or the one under pre
ssure?\n• Do people change\, or do different parts of them just get more
space?\n• Is consistency a sign of integrity\, or just a story we tell
because contradiction makes us nervous?\n• How much of identity is memor
y\, and how much is performance?\n• When someone says ‘that’s not wh
o I am\,’ are they telling the truth or protecting an image?\n• What p
art of yourself do other people seem to know before you do?\n\nHow the mor
ning will go\n\nCome having listened to the episode beforehand. You do not
need to master every section. Focus on the parts that interest you most\,
or the part that made you argue with the episode in your head. We’ll st
art with one question: “What is one version of yourself that only appear
s in certain situations?” Then we’ll stay close to the episode and let
the bigger conversation open up: identity\, memory\, personality\, change
\, self-deception\, and the strange feeling of being both familiar and mys
terious to yourself. Not therapy. Not forced vulnerability. Not everyone t
urning the room into a personal brand audit. A grounded conversation about
what we mean when we say “me.”\n\nListening\n\nHidden Brain - “Who
Are You\, Really?” Official source page: External resource\n\nWhen and w
 here\n\n🗓️ Date: Sunday\, September 13th\, 2026 🕒 Time: 11:00 AM -

no longer attend\, please update your RSVP by Thursday evening. This gives
someone on the waitlist enough time to make plans and take the available
spot. Members who remain marked as attending and miss two events without c
ancelling may be removed from the group. Emergencies happen\; if something
unavoidable comes up\, please message the organizer. Keeping your RSVP ac
curate helps limited seats go to people who can actually attend.
