About this event
Philosophy Pub - informal philosophy discussion. No required reading.
What this is
A casual Sunday evening philosophy table about one question:
What do we owe each other?
Not in some abstract heroic way. In ordinary life. Friends. Strangers. Neighbours. Coworkers. People who need help. People who ask too much. People around us who are easy to ignore because ignoring them is socially normal. No philosophy background needed. Just curiosity, a drink if you want one, and a willingness to think out loud without turning the table into a podcast.
A few questions
- “Do we owe people our time, our honesty, our attention, or only basic politeness?”
- “When does helping become care, and when does it become overinvolvement?”
- “Are we becoming more independent, or just better at not needing each other out loud?”
How it works
We’ll sit together, open the question, and let the room work. Push back cleanly. Listen well. Keep it human.
